New Youth Coordinator

Amber Karst is a familiar face to those who attend Consuming Fire worship experience on Sunday evenings.  Amber is 23 years old and grew up in Joplin, MO.  She graduated from Joplin High in 2010.

“A goal of mine is to make a positive impact on anyone I come in contact with.” Amber says. “I enjoy working with youth because not only am I doing my best to teach them, but they are always teaching me something.

Join Amber at Youth group now called “God’s Squad” every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 in the youth room in the basement.  Our youth welcomes anyone from 6th to 12th grade.  Their mission Statement is Love God, Love People.

10:30 am  Worship and Communion

12:30 pm Nuevo Espiritu (service in spanish) followed by an Easter celebration in the FLC at 2:00

5:30 pm Special Easter Consuming Fire Service in the FLC

Everyone is welcome to attend any or all of the above services.

During the children’s time in the 10:30 service the kids thru 5th grade will be able to hunt for eggs, do crafts and hear the Easter Story.

Maundy Thursday, April 2

Service Time 7:00 pm

Once more we gather around the table to remember Jesus’ last meal with his disciples as we recall the deepening shadows of the night of his betrayal and mind-numbing darkness of his coming death.

Good Friday, April 3

Service Time 7:00 pm

A solemn service to remember Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins. Afterwards the sanctuary will remain dark until Easter morning.

LAST CHILI SUPPER OF THE SEASON!!!

Friday, March 27 at 5:00-You will want to be at Pathways UMC  for the last chili supper of the season.  Come by and enjoy a steaming bowl of Ray Coley inspired chili or a bowl of the delicious vegetable beef soup.  If you can’t make it friday, call the office at 866-4378 to reserve your can or cans of either chili or soup to enjoy at home.  This can be picked up at any time that the office is open.  We freeze it to preserve freshness.  See you Friday or else next September.

Youth Pastor Needed……

Youth Pastor—part time
Pathways United Methodist Church in Springfield Mo is seeking a part time youth pastor.    Applicants must be able to share the love of Christ with the youth and their families of Pathways United Methodist church and the community.  This person will provide guidance and leadership to coordinate and develop youth programming that stimulates spiritual life, growth of faith, Christian development, education, and an ethic of mission and service. The Youth Pastor is directly responsible and accountable for the organization and oversight of all youth ministry and activities.  Events such as weekly Bible study, Sunday School, youth group, retreats, summer camping, and mission trips are part of the scope of this role.  Upon being hired, applicants must successfully complete Safe Sanctuary training.
Hours      15-20 per week
Salary     $500.00 per month,

59th Season of UMM Chili Suppers starts Friday, Sept. 26th

Come by at 5:00 to try our Ray Coley recipe chili.  Also available vegetable beef soup served along with your choice of pies.  Chili and Soup is also available for Carry-out Call  the office at 417-866-4378 to reserve.

POW(Pathways on Wednesday)

Join us every Wednesday night starting August 20 thru Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm

Elementary kids can come and eat a hot cooked meal and then the fun begins.  This year you will learn to play drums, sing songs, make crafts, watch skits, hear bible stories and play games.

Each Wednesday you can earn tickets to be used towards a field trip or for prizes at the final party on October 15.
